This hand carved necklace was inspired by the huge basalt columns which create other-worldly landscapes in places like Iceland’s Vik beach or Fingal’s cave in Staffa, Scotland. It matches really well with the basalt ring and basalt hoops which have the same linear, ruggedly rocky texture that catch the light on elongated, raw facets.

The pendant is made from solid bronze which is a beautiful warm colour matched with a chunky 18 inch 14ct gold fill chain. Gold fill is similar in wearability and quality to rolled gold, where a sheet/layer of gold is bonded onto another non precious metal so there is an actual quantity of gold which lasts much longer than gold plating which is a very very fine layer.
